Rules
All vendors agree to comply with the following rules when exhibiting animals at Expo Göteborg.
The organiser reserves the right, when necessary and in consultation with the expo’s animal welfare officer, to remove vendors who violate the rules below.
No animals that are prohibited under Swedish legislation may be present at the expo.
All vendors are required to provide information on the animal’s care, etc., in accordance with Chapter 3, Section 3 of the Swedish Animal Welfare Authority’s regulations and general guidelines (DFS 2014:17) concerning the keeping, breeding and sale of animals intended for companionship and hobby purposes. (See link at the bottom.)
When selling an animal, the vendor must provide a breeder’s certificate containing the following information:
The animal’s scientific name (and Swedish common name, if one exists).
Contact details for the buyer, seller and/or breeder.
Breeder details must be presented to the organiser upon request.
Date of birth, where available.
Sex, where available.
Date of transfer.
Any listing status of the animal (for example, CITES listing).
Animals that are clearly stressed or show clinical signs of illness must be removed from the table and placed where they will not be disturbed by visitors. The organiser may require a vendor to remove animals where there is reason to do so, for example if there is suspicion that an animal has been wild-caught.
Animals may not be handled outside their container or tub during the expo. If repacking or similar handling is necessary, contact the expo inspectors.
